I always find it interesting when people ask what my platform is.
In Provincial and Federal politics, it is basically imperative to be part of a platform to some extent. One of the fundamental benefits of Municipal elections is that voters can seek representation where their preferred candidate is one who is most likely to engage with an open mind as decisions are required issue to issue.
To be consistently Right or Left has no place at the City table - the beauty of municipal service is that you put your preconceived possibilities aside, and evaluate - as a Team - each issue, for its potential worth to the benefit of the public in general.
There are obviously key issues to tackle in the immediate future that I am more than happy to discuss with you on the phone and at your door over the next few months.
The important piece to your vote is to ensure a Councillor with the flexibility mentioned, a tireless work ethic, and an honest and open approach to all needed conversations amongst other Councillors, Staff and representatives from all three levels of government.
Like you I have many hopes for the City of Kawartha Lakes. I will represent the citizens of this City with integrity, and deal with issues honestly.
My hopes for the City of Kawartha Lakes:
To grow with controlled and meaningful development
To treat residential, commercial, industrial and farming properties and their owners equally
To provide health and social services to those in need, fairly and equitably
To facilitate, and promote the Arts throughout the City of Kawartha Lakes - celebrating this cornerstone of democracy with all families
To protect our fragile environment
To be fiscally responsible
To help facilitate proper road and infrastructure maintenance and development
